Everyone who knows basketball knows about the Bad Boy Pistons. And Isiah Thomas was the leader of the Pistons during their back to back championships. He could shoot, he could pass, and he could dribble as good as anyone in NBA history.

He is widely regarded as one of, if not, the best PURE point guard in NBA history.

Thomas played his entire 13 year career in Detroit and is the team’s all time leader in points, assists and steals.

Joe Dumars was a perfect complimentary shooting guard to Isiah Thomas for the Pistons. He was a great defender and was a good 3 point shooter in an era where the 3 wasn’t as prevalent. Dumars was the MVP in the 1989 NBA finals and helped the Detroit Pistons sweep the LA Lakers.

He was a 5 times All-NBA defensive team member. He played all 14 of his NBA seasons in Detroit and made the NBA All Star team 6 times.

Ben Wallace

Ben Wallace couldn’t score. Who cares. Wallace never averaged double digits in points per game in any of his NBA seasons. However, he was the best defensive player in the league.

During his time In Detroit Ben Wallace and the Pistons had a run where they went to 6 consecutive Eastern Conference Finals, and won the 2004 NBA championship. How good was Ben Wallace at defense?

He was shoe in for Defensive Player Of The Year, winning it 4 times in a 6 year span in Detroit. Not too shabby for an un-drafted player who became the backbone for the 2nd coming of the Bad Boys Pistons.
