The Toronto Raptors let Game 2 of the NBA Finals slip away, it was theres for the taking. Kevin Durant being out hadn’t been much of an issue for the Golden State Warriors as they won every single game since he’s been out. Game 1 in Toronto was a different story, the Warriors actually went down 1-0 in the NBA Finals. With Game 2 in Toronto, we all knew they had a chance to make a big statement, yet, there were a few things we didn’t know going into the game that ended up working in their favor. We didn’t know that Steph Curry would have the flu, Kevon Looney would injured is shoulder, and that Klay Thompson would pop his hamstring and miss the rest of the game. If I told you that before the game, you surely would have picked Toronto.
Not-so-shockingly, once again, when the Warriors are in doubt they seem to find a way to win. This time it was the usual hero in Andre Iguodala, and actually DeMarcus Cousins making a huge impact in an NBA Finals, go figure. The Warriors were extremely vulnerable for the first time in years, yet, the Raptors failed to capitalize.
This game was fun, wild, confusing, and entertaining all at once. The Warriors were underdogs for the first time in years. I am not talking betting wise, but just in general they were so beat up that they weren’t suppose to win this game. Even after the game the entertainment continued as Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant went after Drake to tell him ‘we’ll see you in the Bay.’
While this was funny, I also found it quite interesting that it came from a guy who missed the end of the game and another who didn’t play at all due to injury… You’d think it would come from someone who actually ended up contributing to the win? Anyway, to each his own.
Now the Warriors are headed back to Oracle. The Bay is somewhere that is always difficult to beat the Warriors but luckily for the Raptors the injuries continue to hold back Golden State. Kevon Looney is now out indefinitely with a shoulder injury, Kevin Durant is officially OUT for Game 3, and Klay Thompson is questionable with his hamstring injury. Do not forget that Andre Iguodala is dealing with injuries and DeMarcus Cousins is coming off of a torn quad. Yet, can you guess who is the favorite to win the series?
After the Warriors tied 1 – 1 with the Raptors, The Raptors have to swing the momentum back in there direction as Game 3 approaches, the betting favorite according to this site is still The Warriors at (-270) to win the tournament.
On top of all that, the Raptors are +5.5 point underdogs for Game 6. If I were Nick Nurse coaching the Raptors, the first thing I would do is write that on the board and circle it. “Fans don’t believe in us, and even sports books don’t believe in us.” It doesn’t matter how banged up the Warriors are, it seems that sports-books still believe the Warriors are the better team. I am here to tell you otherwise.
Bet on the Toronto Raptors.
If Kawhi Leonard is who we think he is, this is the time for the Raptors to win. If the Warriors were healthy, we all knew it would take a miracle, but luckily for Toronto they are missing 2 out of their top 3 players, and everyone else is still hurt. I usually wouldn’t root for the Canadian team, but I guess I am not the only one in America doing so:
Toronto, please finish off the Warriors for us all.
Sincerely, the United State of America (other than California and Nevada).
New York can be a tough place. While I love the Big Apple, I do know its a busy place, that sometimes has rough weather, smelly trash bags, and demanding work schedule. Well, someone has found a solution to getting your frustration out while talking a stroll on any given day; punching bags on the sidewalks.
The initiative by the Savannah, Georgia-based design collective donttakethisthewrongway was introduced as a contribution to NYCxDESIGN—or New York City Design Week 2019—as a means to allow locals and visitors alike to “release their frustrations, whatever they may be, in a safe, communal space.”
For all you New York Knicks fan that were waiting to get Zion Williamson, you can walk around and let your anger out on these, forget punching other people. Maybe we can get some more relaxed humans on the streets of New York.
