Seahawks Extend Pete Carroll Through 2021; He Will Be 70 Years Old

The Seattle Seahawks have extended head coach Pete Carroll through 2021. He is the Seahawks winningest coach in franchise history. Along with the only Super Bowl winner.

This all comes despite many so-called ‘experts’ predicted the Seahawks would be in rebuild mode. Some people expected this to be Carroll’s last year and some even suggested the Seahawks would tank.

The Seahawks have now clinched an NFC Wild Card berth and sit at 9-6 with one game remaining in the season.

Pete Carroll’s Seahawks ‘right where we want to be’

The Seahawks announced Monday the team signed head coach Pete Carroll to a multi-year contract extension.

“I am excited to announce that we have extended Head Coach Pete Carroll through the 2021 season,” Seahawks chair Jody Allen said in a statement. “This will continue the championship culture that we have created in Seattle.”

The deal is reported to be in the range of $11M per year.

The Seahawks still have their mainstays on offense and defense, at maybe their two most important position;. Russell Wilson at Quarterback, and Bobby Wagner at middle linebacker.
