Philadelphia 76ers rookies Markelle Fultz and Ben Simmons visited rapper Meek Mill in prison this week, TMZ Sports reported Friday.
According to TMZ Sports, 76ers co-owner Michael Rubin helped put the visit together so that Meek Mill could share some “words of wisdom” ahead of the playoffs.
Meek Mill, whose real name is Robert Williams, received a prison sentenceof two to four years last November after violating terms of probation stemming from a 2008 arrest.
In a motion filed to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office wrote it wouldn’t oppose Williams being released on bail. A judge denied him bail last week while he appeals his sentence.
