Dak Prescott isn’t looking to give away any money when he signs he first lucrative deal. The Dallas Cowboys young quarterback is part of something special cooking up in Dallas, but he doesn’t believe everyone should take pay cuts like Patriots QB Tom Brady. Why?
“Nobody’s wife makes as much money as his wife does.”
Although Prescott wasn’t a big time NFL prospect, he was given the trust of the Cowboys to succeed Tony Romo after being drafted 135th overall in the 2016 NFL Draft. After taking over for Romo, Prescott won the NFL Offensive Rook of the Year over his own team Ezekiel Elliot. The Cowboys were the #1 seed in the NFC Playoffs.
Now, it’s time to be paid…
While speaking with USA Today Sports, Prescott was asked if would he consider giving the Cowboys a hometown discount, but Tom Brady’s wife was the reason he doesn’t think he should…
While New England Patriots QB Tom Brady makes $15 million a year rather than being the top paid in the NFL, Prescott doesn’t think that quite fits his model…
“Nobody’s wife makes as much money as his wife does either,” Prescott said of Brady’s supermodel wife Gisele Bundchen, who earned $10 million in 2018 and $17.5 million in 2017, per reports. “When Tom Brady isn’t the breadwinner in the home, then that’s a great problem to have.
“So in that case, he can do that. He can do his contract however you want to do it.”
This could be a tricky situation for the Cowboys, they need to pay their star running back Ezekiel Elliott and on top of that their new weapon WR Amari Cooper… If they pay everyone, how good will Dak really be?
