Couple Has A Shark Wedding; This Is Real Life

Yesterday we saw a couple that got married on a bed of pickup truck at a venue little girls everywhere dream of called: “Redneck Mud Park”. Today we find the craziest couple of all time who decided to get married while being surrounded by a bunch of sharks. Yes, because what says a lifetime together more than the fear of being eaten alive?

Just wanted to say THANK YOU! MAHALO! MAURURU for all the sweet congrats and loving comments on @juansharks and my wedding 🦈🦈. Overwhelming amount of congratulations in comments and so many text I can’t even get back to everyone especially while still remote with limited cell/Wi-Fi for a short Sharky honeymoon ❤️🦈❤️ Much lava ❤️ For the support and also for everyone who wrote in for the HB808 bill for shark & Ray protection in Hawaii, relieved to hear it passed to the next level, was stressing trying to get the webpage to load to login to vote in support but I did it and enough people did too that the committee voted in favor, fins crossed this is the year the amazing sharks in Hawaii get the protection they need and deserve. Much shark love to you and yours. Now the man getting married is name “Ocean Ramsey” and he is a Marine Biologist so he’s no stranger to shark infested waters. On Instagram account you can see all the photos and a video of the wedding but he did write on the caption:

@Juansharks and I got MARRIED!!! We eloped in a super remote fav secret place surrounded by so many sharks and a few amazing humans. I feel incredibly happy, grateful, and lucky to have found my soul mate, love of my life, my “Juan and only” @juansharks#JuanSharks aka #MrShark There are more things that I love about him than I could list in an IG post but they obviously include the fact that he loves sharks and the ocean like “I do.” Grateful for the sharks
bringing us together and keeping us together for so long and so grateful for the absolutely amazing people who have been so supportive of our relationship and efforts for sharks. A lot of sharks and a few of our ohana (parents, brothers, & 2 close friends) joined us and helped make the celebration extra special, my incredible brother @eliasharks and amazing Sister in law @hbutter who braved sunburns to photograph, drone, & play with the sharks and us.  The special day would have been chaos without my brilliant and sweet maid of honor and favorite long time seaster, the amazing @michelelbarnes & so grateful the uber talented, sweet, fun, bad-ass Sharky best man fav @big_island_billy who joined us too and also helped capture some of our favorite and very significant moments like the underwater with the shark photo @juansharks is posting. Staying remote for a couple days and then back to work, can’t wait to share more and thank you to all those who have been so supportive of @Juansharks and I all along and those that support conservation and research efforts through  @oneoceandiving@oneoceanconservation@oneoceanresearch@oneoceaneducation@oneoceanglobal @oneoceanhawaii@oneoceansharks @waterinspired#oneoceanohana #oneocean#mr&Mrsshark #mrandmrsshark  Special thanks to Juansharks ohana #JCAbusaid@isabella_abusaid@truegritphilosophy who also helped capture & make the moments memorable xoxoxo

I love my WIFE!! @oceanramsey and I just got married!! Not many women would be ok traveling to a remote shark filled place with only solar power, cold water from rain catchment, and mosquitos net beds in thatch huts for their wedding but i was lucky enough to find someone cool enough it was actually her idea because there are more sharks than people in this remote & wild part of French Polynesia. So stoked to be married to the love of my life, incredible person, she takes my breath away everyday and not just because we had to exhale all our air to get underwater for this shot. Much lava to our ohana who made the long journey and helped huge to make it unforgettable capturing some thousand plus fun and amazing photos & vida we are going to be going through for a long time, This one of my favorites shot by my best man and a Jawsome friend @big_island_billy with the help of my official bad-ass sharky brother in law @eliasharks and his wife/pro photographer @hbutter ”outlaws ;)” who shot most of our wedding and my wife’s amazing maid of honor @michelelbarnes my fun niece @isabella_abusaid and nephew @truegritphilosophy so proud and grateful for them. So grateful for ohana, sharks, and especially to finally officially be married to the shark of my dreams 😉 #MrsShark @oceanRamsey #Mrandmrsshark So many friends and family we wanted to invite but with limited accommodations, limited flights, and limited space on the small boats we took for hours to get there we kept it intimate but thank you to all those we are kind and supporting of us and our one ocean ohana @oneoceandiving so many people we are so grateful have helped us along the way and so many sharks, like curly girl who brought us together and have kept us together for 12 years now. #itsofficial #stoked #mrshark #loveofmylife #sharkwedding can’t wait to share more pics and funny vids when we get back to WiFi in a few days 🦈❤️🦈 Thank you everyone & thank you @oceanramsey for being my WIFE! Love you forever

I understand the principle of not touching wild life, keeping nature pure and pristine. But when a 2 ton shark decides to engage you, you may have to engage it back. @oceanramsey is far away from the boat and the crate with food and yet Emma the tiger shark would seek out Ocean multiple times in day. I can’t claim to know why, maybe it is Oceans vertical position standing on the bottom with her fin tips, maybe it is the light reflecting off her whale shark wetsuit, maybe Emma likes the way Ocean gently touched her. And it was not just Emma, as rare as it is, in the last 20 years I have seen other large sharks seek out human touch or engagement in a non aggressive way . My goal in sharing this is not to have people trying to touch sharks because most do not like to be touch, but to get people to see what is possible with years of experience diving with sharks, and to get people to care about sharks. I have found that just documenting sharks by themselves leaves people still thinking that sharks are scary. Images like this gets people engaged and creates a different perception of sharks, one that I hope inspires conservation, to save what we have left. #ApexPredatorNotMonster photo by #juansharks #juanoliphant using @aquatech_imagingsolutions @cressi1946 @xcelwetsuits @guayaki #oneocean @oneoceanconservation

Yeah, this is the type of wedding I might have just sent a gift and not attended.

What do you think?
