It’s been a pretty good off season for New York Met’s fans. And now with the season starting on Thursday the New York Mets got their biggest deal done.
After months of speculation and hard negotiation regarding whether or not the team would be able to get a deal done with Cy Young award winning Jacob DeGrom the two sides have finally got a deal done.
Ace Jacob deGrom and the New York Mets are in agreement on a five-year, $137.5 million contract extension, league sources tell ESPN.

The deal similar to Chris Sale’s deal with the Red Sox, the DeGrom deal includes an opt-out after 2022 and a full no-trade clause. You can say the deal is a bargain for the Mets. DeGrom went 10-9 with a 1.70 ERA last season.
