While Colin Kaepernick seems unlikely as of right now to be signed by an NFL team, it doesn’t mean there is no attention on him from endorsement companies. Adidas has spoken out.
“If he signs on a team, we would definitely want to sign him,” said Mark King, adidas North America President/CEO, at Arizona State University’s Global Sport Summit per a report from AZ Central.
Some people believe it doesn’t matter if he’s on a team or not, and that he should get a deal.

Adidas should sign @Kaepernick7 regardless of an NFL deal. They’re doing deals with all these other “influencers” how many have more influence than him.

If adidas truly believed that Kaepernick matched their brand ideals it wouldn’t matter if he was on a team or not.

King went on to say that he doesn’t want to come off as “taking advantage of this noise or interest that he had generated.” However, he clearly what kind of attention this could garnish: “If they’re an activist in a way that brings attention to something that moves the world forward, even if there’s controversy at that moment, we’re really interested in those athletes because I think it represents the world today.”
