It was one year when we got to see this beautiful story. At a fan event in Jacksonville, FL., Seattle Seahawks linebacker Shaquem Griffin met a young fan with a limb difference, who is also without a left hand.
Griffin’s meeting with 16-month-old Joseph Tid has gone viral, with the video picking up over 4.5 million views on Facebook alone, as well as getting picked up by major media outlets – including the Today Show.
Griffin has used his platform as the first one-handed professional football player drafted to be an inspiration in the community. He was given the NCAA’s Inspirational Award last year for his fine work at the University of Central Florida.
Seattle Seahawks linebacker @Shaquemgriffin is the only NFL player with one hand to be drafted into the league.
He’s using his journey to inspire young kids with similar challenges, including one adorable 16-month-old boy. pic.twitter.com/C7AI0vDVMk
