Gerrit Coles made waves this season after being one of the most dominant pitchers we’ve seen in a while. He continued his dominance in the postseason for the Houston Astros and was getting him self a bigger payday with each and every start. It paid off after all, earning himself a $324 million contract with his childhood team, the New York Yankees.
“If we’re going to do it,” Hal Steinbrenner said of his $324 million, nine-year commitment to Cole, after watching him crush his introductory day, “then it needs to be a guy like this.”
He sure made another wave during this presser with the Yankees as he brought a 2001 World Series sign that he held up as an 11-year old at Yankees Stadium that writes “Yankee Fan Today Tomorrow Forever.”
Gerrit Cole brought the sign he had at the ‘01 World Series as an 11-year-old to his introductory Yankees presser. ???

What a great way to start his Yankees career, now hopefully these nine years of $30+ million is worth it for the Yankee faithful.
