Russell Westbrook Reportedly Sued for $100M by Banned Utah Jazz Fans

Russell Westbrook Lawsuit

Earlier this year, Russell Westbrook reportedly got into a verbal altercation with Utah Jazz fans, with one of the fans reportedly saying, “Get down on your knees like you’re used to.” As a result, Westbrook said, “I’ll f**k you up. You and your wife. I’ll f**k you up.” Because of that, the heckler—Shane Keisel received a lifetime ban from the Vivint Smart Home Arena, where the Jazz play. Now, Keisel is suing Russell Westbrook and the Utah Jazz for $68 million in damages, while his girlfriend is suing for $32 million.

Keisel is saying he would like the money, along with a public apology from Westbrook. Sources close to Russell Westbrook are saying the lawsuit is “meritless” and that “The Jazz conducted their own investigation of the guy’s conduct at that game and based on their investigation, they decided to ban him from attending any future Jazz games.” Stay tuned for more details on this situation.

“The crowd was shocked by the ferocity of Mr. Westbrook’s outburst when he had only been told to take care of his knees,” the lawsuit states, via the Salt Lake Tribune, “albeit in a mocking manner that implied he would need to use them extensively to ensure his team’s victory.”
