BREAKING: Drew Brees Tears Ligament In Thumb & Could Miss 6 Weeks Or More

There couldn’t be more brutal news to come out of New Orleans than this… Drew Brees will ‘likely’ miss 6 weeks and it could be more after tearing a ligament in his throwing thumb after it collided with Aaron Donalds hand. Immediately after, we could see Brees having issues with gripping the football:

Saints’ QB Drew Brees is expected to undergo thumb surgery as early as today that would be expected to sideline him approximately 6 weeks, per leagues sources. If the Saints decide to put Drew Brees on IR for the thumb surgery that is required, he would be unable to practice for six weeks and would to miss eight games. Saints also could not place him on IR and bring him back when ready.
