Tom Brady Signs Extension With Patriots; Signed Until He Is 44 Years Old

The greatest of all-time is back at it again, signing a two-year extension with the New England Patriots. Looks like Tom Brady isn’t going anywhere, anytime soon. Brady will be signed with the Patriots through 2021 when he will be 44 years old.

Source (MassLive) – Tom Brady and the Patriots have reportedly agreed to a two-year contract extension that should keep Brady with the team through 2021.

It will also keep him outside the top five highest-paid quarterbacks in the league.

According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Brady will become the NFL’s sixth highest-paid quarterback this season. Per Schefter, the 42-year-old quarterback will earn $23 million, an $8 million increase from what he had been scheduled to earn in the final year of his original deal.

The five quarterbacks currently ranked ahead of him, based on cash received this year via base salary and signing bonus, are Seattle’s Russell Wilson, Pittsburgh’s Ben Roethlisberger, Minnesota’s Kirk Cousins, Jacksonville’s Nick Foles and Arizona rookie Kyler Murray, the No. 1 overall pick in last April’s Draft.

NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reports the deal is worth a total of $70 million, with Brady scheduled to make $30 million in 2020 and $32 million in 2021. Rapoport notes both the quarterback and team are “amenable to adjusting it,” and describes the deal as year-to-year.
