Soccer players’ theatrics falls are part and parcel of the sport. Biting, however, isn’t. And this is one of the most talked about weird players in recent soccer history.
Uruguay and Barcelona star was banned for nine matches and four months for biting Italy’s Girogio Chiellini during the 2014 World Cup.
Uruguay won 1-0 but he was still banned. And later he did apologize to Giorgio. stating that “I deeply regret what occured, I apologize to Giorgio Chiellini and the entire football family. I vow to the public that there will never again be another incident like this.”
Despite the apology many soccer fans continue to remind Luis Suarez and his fans of the incident leaving him as one of the least liked soccer fans in the world.
“In the moment, my face came into collision with the player, causing a small bruise on my cheekbone and a lot of pain to my teeth, which caused the referee to stop play.”- Luis Suarez on incident
