Infant Struck By Albert Almora Foul Is Thankfully Awake And Stable

A scary scene at Minute Maid Park as a infant child was struck by a screaming line drive foul ball by Chicago Cubs Albert Almora Jr., who was visibly upset as soon as he saw what happened.

Between innings Albert was extremely shaken up and had to be counseled by security at Minute Maid Park:

However, in the only positive news coming out of this situation it seems to be that the child from all reports and indications is going to be alright.

After the game NBS Sports Chicago caught up with Albert and he shared his emotions:

An absolute scary moment, that seems like will at least not have a tragic ending. This was absolutely brutal to watch and thankfully we don’t have footage of the child being struck circulating the internet. Because, it’s something no body wants to see. Prayers to the child’s family, prayers to the child, prayers to Albert Almora and prayers to anyone else involved. This is just more indication that safety netting needs to be further implemented into Major League Baseball stadiums as soon as possible.
