It didn’t take long for star safety Landon Collins to land a massive free agency deal with the Washington Redskins. The former New York Giants Pro Bowl safety has inked himself a six-year $84 million contract. The deal will be made official Wednesday after the legal tampering period of the NFL.

Collins is a young star who has made three straight Pro Bowls with the Giants, who opted to not franchise tag Collins, allowing him to becoming a free agent. Thankfully for him, this ended up getting him the largest contract for a safety in NFL history.
No safety in NFL history has signed a deal larger than the $78 million contract Eric Berry agreed to with the Chiefs, according to Over The Cap. In fact, Collins is just the third safety ever to agree to a deal worth more than $50 million in potential money after Berry and Harrison Smith.
Landon Collins grew up idolizing Sean Taylor. He wears number 21 in memory of Taylor. Pretty cool that he's going to go play Taylor's position for his old team. pic.twitter.com/cxqSpfT6oi
