It’s been 10 years since an NBA basketball game was played in Seattle… After, of course, Oklahoma City stole my hometown Seattle Supersonics…

I hate the Thunder…

But yes, I am biased. Anyways, let’s talk sneakers.

The Key Arena hosted a preseason NBA game between the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings.

This gave a chance for Kevin Durant, who was a rookie for the Sonics, to address the Emerald City crowd while wearing a Shawn Kemp jersey above his Warriors fit.

During the game, he wore a special KD 11 PE issued to him by Nike Basketball, but before the game he rocked a pair of Nike Cortez “Seattle Supersonics” created by Nike designer Ben Kirschner – a Seattle native himself.

This was all around fun for the Seattle area, seeing their rookie star, Durant, and Klay Thompson who played for Washington State University, that has a lot of Seattle homers!
